What we look at
- Syllabus against the goal. For certification guides we map the course against the official exam guide. For skill guides we check whether it covers what the job actually needs.
- How current it is. Cloud services and AI tools change fast. We look at the last update date and at whether the content matches the current version of the exam or tool.
- Hands-on practice. Labs, projects and practice exams count more than hours of video.
- Instructor or institution. Who teaches it and whether they have real experience with the subject.
- Price and access. One-off purchase, subscription or free audit, and what the certificate costs.
- Language. Audio and subtitle languages, because they matter to many readers.
Where the facts come from
Price, length, level, certificate type and platform rating are copied from the course page. Each course card shows the date we checked them. Prices on Udemy and similar platforms change by country and by week, so the price you see at checkout may differ.
How we label courses
We do not give numerical scores to courses we have not completed. Instead, each course gets a label, such as "best overall" or "best for beginners", and one or two sentences explaining the choice, along with pros and cons. When we have taken a course ourselves, we say so.
Updates
Course facts are reviewed every month. The text and ranking of each guide are reviewed at least every six months, or sooner when an exam or a course changes. The "Updated" date at the top of each guide shows the last change.
